Hunter Power Plant
Situated in South Central Utah is Hunter Power Plant, a coal driven power plant that generates electricity for thousands of PacificCorp customers. In order for the Hunter Power Plant to effectively continue generating such power upgrades to a larger blower fan were necessary. The replacement of such fans required for A-Core teams to cut two massive pieces of the concrete foundation. A-Core used specially designed wire saws to saw off the two 12-feet wide by 17-feet thick pieces of concrete.
The project was required to be completed during a plant shutdown. Therefore, two specialized crews worked around the clock, 24/7. A back up saw was mobilized in the case of an unexpected break down or emergency. To the contractor’s astonishment, the entire project was completed in just seven days, which was two days ahead of schedule.
On behalf of Jacobsen Construction along with the other project management firms of Big-D Construction and Layton Construction that were involved in the overall design and construction experience, we are appreciative of your support to assist in the constructing of this facility. It was especially gratifying to see the members of this organization come together, especially in this time of economic downturn, and work together to build this new facility. We are grateful to be associated with so many wonderful construction related firms such as yours.
We appreciate the exceptional amount of thought and intelligence put into our job at Los Alamos National Laboratories. The job was next to impossible, and without dedicated employees such as yourselves the job could not have been done. Your advice and help was very much appreciated. The next to impossible job has been completed thanks to A-Core's A-team.
A-Core deserves a great deal of praise for your technical knowledge and positive attitude in performing this work on the Los Alamos National Laboratory.
On behalf of The Lowell construction project in Park City, Utah, I want to thank you for responding to our needs so quickly and professionally. Your employees are well qualified. Ray Fonseca is one of them. He has consistently been the best core driller that has worked on this project. He has great abilities and instincts, always mindful of safety and eager to get the job done in a timely fashion, as well as respectful of everyone on the jobsite. Thanks again for your help on this difficult project, you have been a valuable member of my team, we look forward to using A-Core again on future projects.
A-Core is a professional organization that met all of the challenges during this challenging pipeline project. A-Core comes highly recommended by Barnard Construction.
I just took the best phone call I’ve EVER taken at CPC. The guy said, “My name is Tim and I just got back from Afghanistan . I just passed one of your jobs here on I84, and one of your pieces of equipment had an American Flag on it and I just wanted to say, Thank you”. I told Tim, Thank you for what he has done for our country. I’ve taken many interesting phone calls over the years, but none have made me feel better than that one. So, thanks for taking the time and effort to display the American flag [on your equipment]. That was awesome!
This letter is to inform you of the VERY professional attitude exhibited by the A-Core personnel that performed the coring service for our project at Luke AFB. The professionalism was not only in the gentlemen's greeting but also in the work that he performed. This person took the time to protect the building with plastic to keep the residue from the coring off of the building exterior and even washed down the wall to remove what residue the plastic sheathing did not catch. This is not a common occurrence from cutting companies and A-Core will receive my highest rating.
I want to personally thank you for your support over that the past 30 years. RLW would not have made it this far without great friends and subcontractors who make us look good. All of us here at Ralph L. Wadsworth Construction look forward to working with you for another 30 years.
