Heyburn, Idaho - A-Core Concrete Specialists successfully completed the full demolition of the Heyburn Bridge, marking an important milestone as our first complete bridge removal project.

Project Overview

The demolition required careful planning and execution, particularly for the section spanning active railroad tracks. Crews began by laying out precise cut patterns across the bridge deck. Using a combination of wire sawing, wall sawing, flat sawing, and core drilling, the deck was cut into controlled sections and safely removed.
Once the deck was cleared, cranes were used to lift and remove the bridge girders. After completing the work above the railroad, attention shifted to the remaining portions over the freeway. With carefully coordinated closures, our crews carried out round-the-clock demolition to bring down the structure quickly and safely, minimizing impacts on traffic and surrounding infrastructure.

A Milestone for A-Core
The Heyburn Bridge demolition was more than just a complex project. It was the first time A-Core Concrete Specialists managed the complete removal of an entire bridge structure.
